4 Types Of Hair To Use For Wigs 1

Several types of hair can be used to make wigs, each offering different qualities and characteristics. Some of the most common types of hair used for wigs include:

Human Hair: Human hair is popular for wig-making due to its natural look, feel, and versatility. Quality human hair can last for years with proper care and maintenance. It can be sourced from various regions, including Europe, Asia, and South America, each with unique textures, colors, and qualities. Human hair wigs can be styled, cut, and colored like natural hair, providing a more realistic appearance and greater styling flexibility.

Synthetic Hair: Synthetic hair is made from artificial fibers designed to mimic the appearance and texture of human hair. Synthetic wigs are pre-styled and ready to wear in various colors and styles. Synthetic wigs can hold their style for life but can be re-styled with either low heat or steam. They are typically more affordable and require lower maintenance than human hair wigs.

Animal Hair: In some cases, animal hair, such as horsehair, yak hair, goat hair, and more, can be used for wig-making. These hair types are often used to create specialty wigs, such as costumes or theatrical wigs. Animal hair can provide unique textures and appearances but may require special care and maintenance. Occasionally, animal hair can be used on the hairline for a softer look.

Human Hair Blend: Some wigs are made from a blend of human and synthetic fibers, offering a balance between the natural appearance of human hair and the affordability and low maintenance of synthetic hair. Blended hair wigs can provide a more budget-friendly option while still offering some styling versatility.

Wigs, Toupees, & Toppers

Wigs, toupees, and toppers are all types of hairpieces that are worn to cover up hair loss or thinning hair. Some just wear them for fun! They are similar in that they are used to add hair to the head but differ in design, materials, and intended use.

Most wigs are made to cover the entire head from the forehead to the nape and on the sides. They can be made of human hair, synthetic fibers, or a blend of the two. They are typically worn by people experiencing hair loss due to genetics, aging, or medical conditions such as alopecia. Wigs are also often worn by people as a protective style. Wigs are versatile, can be styled in different ways, and can be a great option for those who want to change their look or have lost all of their hair.

Toupees are smaller hairpieces worn to cover up hair loss or baldness on the top of the head. They are typically made of human hair or synthetic fibers and are attached to the scalp with adhesive or clips. They are designed to mimic the appearance of real hair and are typically worn by men experiencing hair loss due to genetics, aging, or medical conditions such as alopecia.

A topper is a type of hairpiece that sits on top of the head and is used to cover up hair loss or thinning hair. Toppers can be made of human hair or synthetic fibers and are attached to the scalp with clips or adhesive. They come in various sizes and shapes and are designed to add volume, length, and thickness to the existing hair. Thin skin toppers, also known as a thin skin hairpiece or a thin skin top piece, are made with a thin, breathable, and flexible material called thin skin. They mimic the look and feel of human skin; they are often used as an alternative to full wigs or hairpieces, as they can be less conspicuous and more comfortable to wear.

Selling Phony Wigs With Luxury Prices

What would you do if you paid $900 for a wig from an Instagram Influencer, it didn't arrive, they blocked you, and posted your personal address on their social media profiles?

A few days ago, I read an article about how this exact scenario happened to a young lady. This lady ordered a wig for $900 and never received the wig.

You can read the full article here. I don't know who the influencer is or who the lady is. I just so happened to come across this article over the weekend.

I've heard countless stories from people attending my events or sliding in my DM's to tell me about situations like this from other people. Unfortunately, according to the article, this is happening a lot more with wigs.

Because of the wig shortage and the insane price increase, people are looking for solutions but are getting scammed. That's why it's so important to have integrity when going into business.

Here are some things that you can do so you don't fall victim to a scammer.

1) Do your research. A simple google search can reveal a lot about a company or an individual. If something doesn't feel right, don't do it.

2) If you're purchasing through Instagram, read the comments; although comments can be deleted, sometimes they don't get deleted and can reveal a lot about the company or individual.

3) Communicate clearly. Often issues like the one in the article can happen because of lack of communication. You may have an expectation the individual you're doing business with doesn't know about. Make sure you're communicating clearly what the expectations are.

4) Pay attention to the payment methods they're asking for. If they only accept payment one way, run, you should have options when making payments.

Don't just jump in head first; take your time and know what you're getting into before there's an exchange of any funds.

God bless,

Was John Oliver Right About Black Hair? 13

Was John Oliver Right About Black Hair?

A few weeks ago, I was back home in Las Vegas about to go to bed when the John Oliver show just so happened to be on TV. Just as I was about to close my eyes to sleep, I saw that he was getting ready to do an entire segment on black hair.

I sat up immediately, paying very close attention because I was very interested in hearing what he would say about our hair. I mean, part of me was like, “Oh my gosh! Am I going to be offended?”

I didn't know what to expect because for so long black hair has been the topic of discussion in the workplace, not just from black people but also from white people or people of other ethnicities who are uncomfortable with the way we wear our hair.

Before I get into what he talked about in the video, I want to talk a bit about some of the struggles and things that we've gone through for so many years as black women when it comes to our hair. I spent nine and a half years in the United States Air Force, and in my time in the Air Force, it was always an issue with hair, not with me personally, but in general.

We had to follow Air Force Regulation 36-2903. That regulation had to be adhered to for you to remain compliant about your hair. Basically, you could not wear your hair in a “faddish” style.

The natural texture of black hair was considered a fad, so you couldn't wear your fro if you were going natural, for example. Braids were sometimes an issue, wearing a nice tapered short brush cut was an issue, and so were locs.

But in my mind, the question I always asked myself was, “What other ethnicity would be told that the natural texture of their hair is faddish?”

All of this comes from a simple lack of understanding of our hairstyles' cultural meaning. Have you ever experienced someone asking if they could touch your hair? Or maybe they make a snide comment like, “it's just nappy.” All of this comes from a lack of communication and understanding.

Okay, back to John Oliver because I want to give him and his writers credit for the research and love they put into their show concerning black hair and all the drama we have to deal with just to live in a world that completely disrespects our God-given hair at every point.

You can watch the show here.

His team did an incredible job doing the research, and they got it right. Our hair is not an ornament. Our hair is a cultural thing for us, and everyone in the world needs to understand that.

To have someone like John Oliver, who is not a black man, or a black woman, create a piece like this and nail it to me is absolutely amazing.

So thanks John, you made a difference, and I'm very thankful this issue hit your radar, and you chose to take action on it.

Be blessed,

Spend $99, Make $10,000? 14

Spend $99, Make $10,000?

Is it possible to spend only $99 and make $10,000.00? I can't guarantee any amount, but I can tell you that having a skill means nothing if you don't know how to market your services.

One of my outstanding students shared that she had a significant change in her finances. “I did reach my goal of achieving my first $10,000 making lace wigs and charging my worth.” This student went through training I created for my Lace Wig Training System Students called “How To Make Your First $10,000 making Lace Wigs.

This is the exact same training I'm giving you when you join me at my 1-Day Virtual Lace Wig Bootcamp.

Spend $99, Make $10,000? 15

Another student now charges $500 for her wigs and offers mobile services. Lastly, another student has seen a 100% increase in her income, and the list goes on.

You must understand the importance of marketing just as much as you understand your craft. The two go hand in hand. You can take the skills you learn at the 1-Day Virtual Lace Wig Bootcamp and create so many different revenue streams!

"Feel" Your Way To Your Goals ~ Don't Get Fooled 16

“Feel” Your Way To Your Goals ~ Don’t Get Fooled

Planning is important. Having a vision is important. Being faithful is important.

There's a new movement that's becoming pretty popular these days. And if you look and listen very carefully, you'll begin to notice the word patterns used by people who believe in this movement.

I call it the “Feel Movement.”

There are people who actually believe you can “feel” your way to your goals.

They don't believe in planning. They don't believe in work; for the most part, they basically don't want to take responsibility for themselves or anything around them.

If these people don't “feel” it, they won't take action. They won't do anything.

And don't think Christians are any better. There are many Christians who are still waiting, 30 years later, for God to PHYSICALLY tap them on the shoulder and say it's okay to WORK.

Don't buy into this nonsense.

You are a child of God. You have a beating heart and two legs to walk on. That's enough to get out there and make a difference.

Stop waiting to do what God already equipped you to do.

Listen to the spirit of God, stay prayed up, and take STRATEGIC action. If you fail, chalk it up as a learning lesson and get back to your work.

If you wait to “feel” EVERYTHING, you'll never move forward.

Let me leave you with a few verses to think about…

Proverbs 12:11

Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. (NIV)

Proverbs 14:23

All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. (NIV)

John 5:17

In his defense Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” (NIV)

Acts 20:35

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.' (NIV)

John 4:34

“My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. (NIV)

Lastly, if you are like me and don't mind work, like helping others, you might consider making Lace Wigs.

Registration is open for my 1-Day Virtual Lace Wig Bootcamp. You don't want to miss out on this incredible opportunity to help people with this amazing skill.

Take a look at what one of my students who just trained with me did.

The bottom line is, you can do it. All you have to do is believe and make a mental shift! This is your season to shine!

Men Caught Smuggling Gold Under Toupee’s 🤦🏾‍♀️

Yep, you read that right. I was just as surprised as you when I read the article from Travel Pulse.

Two men at the Chennai Airport in India were caught trying to smuggle $400K in gold underneath their toupees and rectums 🤢.

Not only were they acting weird, but their hair also looked suspicious, so they were stopped and searched, and that's when they were exposed.

It's never okay to do anything illegal by any means, but the wigmaker in me thought for a minute, why didn't they make the wigs more realistic?

When you make an amazing wig, no one should be able to walk up to you and say, “Oh, that's a nice wig!”

That's not a compliment; a compliment would be more along the lines of, “Your hair is beautiful!” Wigs should be undetectable and unnoticeable.

There are some key tactics and techniques that help trick the eyes to make for a more realistic wig. These strategies are what I will be covering in my 3-Day Virtual Lace Wig Mastery Program. The dates are April 25-27, 2021, and you don't want to miss out.

The class is only $295 or 3 payments of $99. Click here for all of the details.
