This Episode 67 of the Marquetta Breslin Live Show talked about “How To Deal with A Rude Client.”
There is a saying “Be kind to unkind people – they need it the most.” – Ashleigh Brilliant
Every day we meet different kinds of people, specifically, if you are running a business, we sometimes meet a rude client, and dealing with them is a little bit tricky. We need to learn to deal with rude people as a fact of life. But how can we deal with them professionally?
- Keep Calm – Take a deep breath. We sometimes want flip out, but this is not a good idea. We may say or do something that we may regret later. The best thing to do is to keep calm, get a hold of yourself, and ask yourself, will my anger help the situation?
- Allow the client to finish his/her argument. Don’t take it personally. Sometimes clients only want to be heard. Bear in mind that we have different beliefs, values, and experiences that may have triggered the situation.
- Ask yourself, is confrontation necessary? We sometimes wanted to confront the person but this may lead to much bigger problems so there must be a much better way to do it and this is to COMMUNICATE properly.
- Analyze the situation. Is the person being really rude or just your emotions making the situation escalate?
What is important in this situation is that you do not lose your temper and at the same time you protect yourself and your people and as long as you are right.
Once you master the art of dealing with rude customers, you will then realize there are no bad people but just people with problems.
