Aww man, I was so shocked yesterday as I read a Facebook post from Erica Hughey Aker, a former student who graduated from multiple programs with me. In her post, Erica talked about her experience with COVID-19 and how she's now on the other side of it.
After I finished reading about her experience, I laid in bed for a while and thought about how much of a crazy year this has been for all of us. Our local government mandated that we quarantine, we've had to deal with multiple issues of death, racial injustice, loneliness, fear, depression, doubt, worry, anger, and so much more.
Aside from all of that, there have been some positives. Several industries are actively addressing and fixing racial injustices head-on. Businesses have been birthed; businesses have flourished, families are spending more time together, people are becoming more productive, and so on.
I think we can all agree that 2020 will go down in history as a year that no one living, no matter how old you are, has ever experienced.
Today, I encourage you to reflect on the positives from this year and do these two things…
- Write down all that you've learned this year. It's easy to reflect on the negatives, but what have you learned this year about yourself and others?
- Write down how you plan to finish this year strong. I have a list of things I want to accomplish with the three months left this year, and I'm creating the environment to help me achieve that. What are you planning to do this year to finish strong?
There are still three months left in 2020, you can either take the bull by the horns and finish strong, or you can sit and do nothing.
Finish strong and walk into 2021 with your head held high, ready for what life throws your way!
Happy Monday.
Be blessed,
