Tuesday night instead of cooking dinner we decided to go to our favorite restaurant in Summerville. The food is fantastic, and the owner makes you feel like you've known her for years…truly an amazing woman.
Shortly after we sat down to eat, she started to tell me about how her trip to Japan was canceled, but what she said after that caught my attention.
“We didn't go. God didn't want us there.”
I was all ears as she began to share her testimony.
She and her family had been planning a trip to Japan to see some friends, and to do a little business. The flight from here to Atlanta arrived a tad bit late, but it was the Atlanta flight to Japan that never happened.
Their flight kept getting rescheduled over and over again only to be told they needed to sleep in the airport to make sure they were on the next flight out. She proceeded to roll up her denim jacket as a pillow and her purse to support her back.
Our of pure frustration, she cried as she laid on the floor in the Airport with her family. At around 2-3am she fell asleep to the janitors vacuums. After about 15 minutes of sleep, her husband woke her up to tell her their trip was canceled.
Not only was the trip canceled, but they also lost 60% of the money they had already spent for the travel plans in Japan.
She was devastated. Her husband had booked them a hotel for 2 nights and had gotten a rental car so they could drive back home to Charleston.
How sweet! She was able to get some rest and decompress. On the day they were checking out of the hotel to go back home to Charleston, they received a phone call from the friends in Japan they were going to visit.
It just so happened to be the same day they were supposed to arrive there. The conversation went something like this…
“You all are so blessed. If you had made it here you would have been involved in a 7.0 Earthquake that resulted in a 30ft Tsunami! Things are crazy over here right now…”
Tears fell from her eyes as she thanked God.
As she finished telling us the story our faces were in such shock. Then I realized what her first statement meant when she said… “God didn't want us there.” How powerful!
No matter what is going on in our lives, no matter when that “thing” is happening, it may seem like everything under the sun is working against us, but I'm a firm believer that there's a reason for everything. Even when it may seem like it's not.
This reminds me of how business is…it's NEVER a straight line. It's almost always a squiggly line. I know it definitely was for us. That's why we created our Million Dollar Stylist System to help aid in the process of building the business you've always wanted.
Our process in business was much like my friend's process at the airport. But the end result was amazing, and that allowed us to show you how NOT to make the same mistakes we did.
So if you think what you're going through is for no reason, understand that there's light at the end of the tunnel. Keep pushing forward and never give up!
Be Blessed,
