This morning was like my typical Monday morning. The kids and I left the house to head to Crossfit. I'll admit I was nervous, but I was up for the challenge!
After about 30 minutes into the workout my legs started to give out, then my asthma kicked in. I had to just bout crawl to get my inhaler. I needed to breathe and walk!
I sat down to catch my breath; everyone else was still going. There were five rounds; I'd only completed one. I took my time and caught my breath and managed to walk back over to where my station was set up.
“Just stop…you're done,” I told myself.
“There's no way you can finish now. It's too late,” I said.
Both kids asked me if I was done.
I told them yes…
My body was done, but my mind was determined NOT to give up.
My breathing was back to normal, so I slowly got up and started exercising again. I pushed through the next three rounds and collapsed.
“Is that it Mom? Are you done?” The kids asked.
“Yes!” I said. I was done physically, but my mind wouldn't let me quit.
About 30 seconds later I peeled myself up off the floor and completed the last round of that workout!
When I think about what I put myself through mentally and physically, and how I pushed through and didn't give up even though I wanted to quit, I was reminded of how hard my Mom pushed, and fought cancer for ten years, and never gave up!
Watch this video and remember, no matter who you are and what you do, never give up on YOU!
