“Baby, can we please not talk about your hair right now?”
LOL! That's what Ricky says to me sometimes when I get stuck in a rut with my hair.
For 6 months I rocked my blonde box braids and LOVED them, but what I didn't love was how heavy they were.
I started to get really bad tension head aches from having them up in a bun all the time.
Not because it was too tight, but because it was too heavy. Think I'm joking? I weighed myself after I took them out and I was literally 5lbs lighter!
Anyway, on a whim after having gotten the edges of my braids redone only 2 weeks prior I decided it was time for a change and took my braids out. So, the next day I was off to the Barber Shop to get my hair cut into a low maintenance style.
I had already scoured the net and raided Instagram for pictures of natural hair cuts, and I have to say I saw some beautiful ones! I didn't see exactly what I was looking for so I decided to just let my barber use his creativity.
Any Stylist or Barber knows when a client says “do you” and you have the skills and ability to cut hair to truly suit them, you can create something really beautiful!
Here's what I got…
I have to say it took me a while to get use to it, but after a few days I really love it!
My hair grows fast so it's already starting to grow back into a nice low maintenance style that I can just wash, throw some product in and go!
But… I'm no longer blonde, I'm a different color and you have to stay tuned in to see what that color is… You're gonna be shocked!
