Ricky and I built our business while full time in the Air Force, raising 2 kids that were 13 months apart, while at the same time in college managing to get our Associates Degrees.
In the middle of it all he was deployed twice before Cale has his first birthday.
I found out in 2006 my Mother had stage 2 Breast Cancer. Instead of stopping that motivated me to push harder! As a result we created the first and only of it's kind…The Lace Wig Training System.
We worked, and we worked some more creating over 13 DVD titles, launching several sites, starting a hair company, and a hair growth vitamin.
Finally in 2008 Ricky got out of the Air Force to focus on the business full time.
I followed suit 1.5 years later after being told by my boss in the Air Force that my “little business” wouldn't be successful.
I didn't give up.
Then almost 6 years to date my Mother ended up back in the hospital with what we thought was Pneumonia.
Little did we know it was her cancer rearing it's ugly head.
This time it was stage 4.
10 days before my very first Million Dollar Stylist® LIVE! event we were told the cancer had spread to her spine, in addition to the football size tumor on her ovary.
I spent months preparing for my event only to lose the entire thing twice 2 weeks before the event.
For 10 days I spent ever other day either taking my Mom to the hospital or sitting at her bedside after she was admitted.
I didn't give up…
10 months later my Dad called me after having a severe allergic reaction to some Blood Pressure medication.
Moments later I received a phone call from his Doctor telling me he needed to get to the Emergency Room ASAP or it could cost him his life!
After receiving a blood transfusion that didn't help the doctors found a 3 inch tumor inside his colon.
So, 2 days before my first Lace Wig Training Seminar of this year I drove down to NC to be with my Dad at his appointment.
I didn't give up…
The day of his surgery I was teaching.
I still didn't give up…
I said ALLL of that to say that no matter what curve ball life throws your way you must not give up!
It's all part of God's plan for your life. I was determined to keep pushing forward no matter what.
Now, the kids are great, my parents are doing great, and Ricky and I are living our dream!
I thank God every chance I get for what I've gone through because it's made me stronger.
Don't give up.
People will try to talk you out of things, they will tell you you're stupid, it won't work, you can't do it, and lord only knows what else.
Don't listen to them. Be obedient and keep going no matter what!
Food for thought…
