I have a big secret I'm keeping that I haven't decided to share with you, but what I will tell you is that it involves my natural hair…
LOL That's all you get for now, but this secret has allowed me to be able to try some products out and share my results with you so… First up is…
The Shea Moisture line
Now before I share my experience with you I need to tell you about my texture because while natural hair products are poppin up left and right, they are not all created equal and they don't all work the same for everyone's hair type.
Based on Oprah's hair stylist, Andre Walker's book Andre Talks Hair I would classify my hair as a Type 4a (Kinky with defined tight coily curls).
Now that we've got that established, let's get to the review…
I came across this product some time ago when one of the After School care counselors at the kids' school told me it was what he used for her hair.
I have to admit I was a little skeptical because I'm always quick to run to the professional products first, but I decided to give it a try.
I headed over to Amazon and picked up the Shea Moisture Organic Curl & Shine Kit Coconut & Hibiscus.
Of the entire kit I only used the Curl & Style Milk and the Curl Enhancing Smoothie.
I loved them both!
The Curl Enhancing Smoothie gave me very nice definition and moisture that lasted for about 3 days. By the middle of the 2nd day my hair was a little dryer with some definition.
The Curl & Style Milk is my favorite! My definition lasted until I Co-Washed my hair 4 days later and probably would have lasted a little longer had I not co-washed my hair.
You've got to try these products if you're natural or have client or children who are natural.
The next blog post will talk all how I used both of these products to get the most benefits out of them both.
Stay tuned…
Be blessed,
