As I sit at my desk to type this, I was lead to stop and rewrite what I was originally going to send. I have to be obedient and go where I'm lead so here goes…
Last night we'd planned to take the kids downtown Charleston to lunch. So, today we did. We made reservations on the way there at our favorite restaurant Magnolia's.
The reservations were for 1:30. We arrived and parked in our usual parking garage 30 minutes early.
“Well, let's just sit here for a minute,” Ricky suggested.
“We should walk to the water,” I said.
The kids immediately got excited; we could throw a rock and hit the waterfront park. So, we got out of the car and walked right over to waterfront park.
The weather was perfect, no more than 83 degrees, and a nice breeze. Once we arrived at the park, I took a moment to look around and God's beautiful work, the grass, the sky, the birds, the trees. It was all so beautiful to me.
That moment I began to thank God for the blessings, and for the freedom to be able to do what I love every day. This year I truly understood the importance of walking by faith, and not by sight.
There were times in business and life when we I didn't understand the path or the journey we would be lead to embark on, but instead of questioning it we stepped out and walked out on faith.
I distinctly remember the day we closed the salon and walked out on faith to launch Million Dollar Stylist almost three years ago. I can't help but think…”What if we didn't listen?”
There would be no Million Dollar Stylist, no online classes, no live events, and no podcast. I honestly don't know what we'd be doing.
What I do know is because we were obedient, many lives have been changed. I wish I could read the emails, share the videos, and private messages we've received from people who have stepped out on faith and taken an online course, read one of my books, listened to a podcast, read a blog, seen a post on social media, or attended a live event.
Some of the stories will bring you down to your knees in prayer. It's amazing.
When you're feeling led to do something, you must be obedient to the Word and walk by faith, not by sight.
