So Monday I spent the day in the salon servicing 2 VIP clients. My Mom and my Cousin. 🙂
They both always bring a new “challenge” to me with almost every hairstyle I perform for them and this time was no different.
My cousin wanted a simple Sew In just like the one I demonstrate in my Braiding & Weaving Legacy Package. Simple and easy, but then she decided she wanted it custom Ombre'd on the ends.
I have to say the colors we picked were beautiful!
While I was working on my cousin's hair my Mom just could not figure out what type of hairstyle she wanted. She was on the fence, so I took a break and jumped on the internet and decided to help her out.
As I was thinking of a style for her, (knowing she's had every style you could think of), I thought about how spunky and fun she is so I thought…. “Ohh! I wonder if she'd go for a side shaved head?”
So…I went for it and blurted it out.
She looks up at the picture of my with half of my entire head shaved off hanging on the wall and said…“What?! Why not! It's just hair, it will grow back. Let's do it”
My cousin and I looked at each other with a shocked expression on both our faces!
I said let's do it and started to cut that side down before she changed her mind.
Before long she had a side shaved head with a full Sew In! I used my Full Sew In w/ No Hair Left Out technique. This technique is great for those clients that aren't good with keeping up with their own hair during a sew in. My Mom is one of those clients. LOL
I must say she wears it very well! It's fun and spunky and suits her personality.
I posted pictures to my Instagram (@marquettabreslin), Twitter (@marquettab), and Facebook curious to see the response I'd get since my Mom is older and chose a hairstyle that's usually worn by the younger generation.
I was pleasantly surprised to see such a positive response!
What do you think? Do you think there's a such thing as being too old for a particular hairstyle?
I asked my Mom what she thought about this and she said…”It doesn't matter how old I am for this hairstyle. It's what I chose to do and I like it so that's all that matters.”
I'd love to hear what you think! Share your thoughts below!
Be blessed
